Synopsis
In this timely webinar, our speaker will explore the evolving landscape of child exploitation with a particular focus on online harms and digital communities. Drawing on extensive experience in the online sphere, they will examine how organised exploitation is increasingly facilitated through online platforms, including spaces such as ‘The Com’, and how child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is being commercialised and weaponised for coercion, extortion, and control.
While not leading on County Lines specifically, the speaker will address how different forms of exploitation interconnect, and will engage with law enforcement partners to provide a holistic, multi-agency perspective. The session will highlight emerging threats, offender pathways, and key prevention messages for practitioners navigating this complex and rapidly evolving terrain.

Rob Richardson is the Deputy Threat Lead for CSA in the National Crime Agency. He leads the law enforcement response to ‘The Comm’ or Sadistic Online Exploitation; bringing together colleagues from the NCA, the National Cyber Crime Unit, CTPHQ (Counter Terrorism police), domestic policing, the UK Intelligence Community and policy leaders.
