NOTA Chair Stuart Allardyce:
2025 International Conference Review
Exhausted after chairing this year’s NOTA conference in Belfast, but delighted by feedback. Challenging and thought provoking keynotes on current theories and debates about paedophilia; extremism, extremist material and online child sexual abuse; intersections between domestic violence and child sexual abuse and rethinking placed based approached prevention of child sexual exploitation.
And 37 workshops over 2 days! Great to see Lucy Faithfull Foundation presenting on learning from the Stop It Now helpline on AI and child sexual abuse; good practice in engaging with autistic individuals worried about their sexual thoughts, feelings and behaviours; the independent evaluation of our CSAM prevention chatbot piloted on Pornhub; findings from our 3 year action research into preventing peer on peer sexual harm in schools and good practice in engaging the media about child sexually abuse.
Many thanks to our amazing conference committee chair Dr Dulcie Faure-Walker, the indefatigable Kieran McCartan, BestCity Services and all our sponsors.
And thanks to James Cantor, Nicholas Blagden, Iain Drennan, Ethel Quayle, Marcella Leonard MBE, Robert Richardson, Professor Parveen Ali, Nadine McKillop, Carlene Firmin, Gareth McGibbon, Siobhan Keegan, Miriam O’Callaghan, Stephanie O’Keefe.
